Venoruton (troxerutin) and Daflon (diosmin with hesperidin) are venotonics: pharmacy medicines used for the discomfort of poor leg circulation.
- What they are used for: relieving symptoms of mild venous insufficiency, such as heavy, aching, swollen or itchy legs with varicose veins; Daflon is also used for haemorrhoidal episodes.
- Do you need a prescription? In Spain they are sold over the counter in pharmacies.
- Check first if: you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take other medicines, or your symptoms do not improve: they should not be used long-term without medical supervision.
- Seek urgent assessment if: one leg suddenly swells with calf pain, or you develop breathlessness or chest pain: these can be signs of a blood clot.
This is general information and does not replace the package leaflet or the advice of your doctor or pharmacist. If you need an assessment, you can book a video consultation. This service is for urgent, non-emergency care; in an emergency, call 112.
